Founded in , the First Baptist Church of Beaumont, Texas, and its members, have contributed immensely to the religious, social, economic, and political life of the city. The records of the church include photographs, publications, administrative records, records of the Sunday School, and membership records. This series collects Baptist publications, both internal and external to the First Baptist Church.

A copy of the Beaumont Enterprise-Journal issue which commemorated the one hundredth anniversary of First Baptist Church is included. It also holds issues of the Baptist Standard , a publication for Texan Baptists, from to , with additional issues from and Finally, it holds many issues of First Baptist's weekly worship service bulletins, from to This series holds programs and records from various special events that First Baptist has held.

These primarily include programs from the church's various Grand Openings held after new building projects and renovations were completed , its th, th, and th anniversary celebrations, and important musical and theater programs. It also holds programs from the groundbreaking and dedication of the Southeast Texas Baptist Hospital, and from other city-wide events.

The series holds papers related to the Carroll family, founding members of the church. Carroll was also the Prohibition Party's candidate for the vice-presidency of the United States in The Carroll papers include a family photograph album, a family Bible, and the papers of Marjorie Carroll, a Sunday School teacher and director of the church's Heritage Room.
